With Ash Dieback now being confirmed in Cornwall across a range of sites, the impacts from this harmful pathogen will no doubt become more obvious to Ash tree owners. As the inoculum levels become higher and more trees become infected or decline, monitoring tree health will help tree owners manage risks from declining trees.
The Ash Dieback Action Plan Toolkit (see our useful link) is a really helpful document for individual Ash tree owners or those with larger Ash tree stocks to manage. Example 6 provides help for tree owners in monitoring tree health and is provided as a PDF document on our website in the Information Resources Section. Please note that sanitation felling is not advisable or good practice.
